Pacific International Maritime Medical Service, Inc. (PIMMS) was founded in 1997. We work with ship agents, owners, P&I clubs and other interested parties to provide medical services for any maritime need. Our services include:

     • Billing review and discounting
     • Hospitalizations
     • Vaccinations
     • Case management and review
     • Global repatriations

In addition we operate an occupational health clinic and provide employer health services locally. We also own Oregon’s largest travel clinic, the Travel & Immunization Clinic of Portland, which opened in 2003.

MATTHEW FAHEY, MD

Matthew Fahey, MD, President of Pacific International Maritime Medical Service, Inc., finished his residency in Emergency Medicine at University of Oklahoma in 1992. He has been working as an Emergency Medical Physician in and around the Portland area for over 15 years. In 1997 he co-founded Pacific International Maritime Medical Service. Dr. Fahey also provides part-time travel consultations at the Travel and Immunization Clinic of Portland since 2003.

DAVID SHUBIN, RN, BSN

David Shubin is the Chief Executive Officer of  Pacific International Maritime Medical Service, Inc. He graduated with a BSN from Linfield College in 1995. Since obtaining his degree, he has been working as a Registered Nurse, specializing in critical care and neonatal care. David has been providing occupational health including air ambulance transportation to maritime patients since 1997. David is an experienced world traveler and in addition to his work at PIMMS he provides travel health consultations at the Travel and Immunization Clinic of Portland.

BRIAN BATTALIA, MD

As Medical Director of Pacific International Maritime Medical Service, Inc., Brian Battalia, MD brings a long history of experience in medicine to the company. A medical graduate of Oregon Health Science University, Dr. Battalia trained in Internal Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland finishing his residency in 1988. In 1992 he founded the Legacy Health System Travel Clinic at Good Samaritan Hospital where he worked as the clinic’s director until 2003. He is currently the Ambulatory Care Director for Legacy Health System. Dr. Battalia is also a board member for CASA for Children, the Legacy Portland Hospitals Foundation and the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine.
